Located in Los Angeles, California, the Monolith was born in 2015 and is an independent publishing platform that operates under the banner of CPOP and serves as an extension of CPOP to provide both fiction based on CPOP games and titles, as well as unique fiction.
At the core of the Monolith, is Neuicon, the owner and founder of CPOP. While free works had been released in the past under CPOP and a newly established Monolith, the first official series to debut, was Absolute Valentine, written by Tom Haswell and illustrated by CPOP artist, March of Venus. Absolute Valentine garnered success and paved the way for the Monolith's second title, Chinatown, by Chris Reynolds, which stands as the brand's most influential and successful ongoing series.
In 2019, the scope of the Monolith has graduated beyond the simplicity of a CPOP-focused brand, giving much more attention to authors and writers looking to present unique fiction and using the Monolith as a platform. Such examples include author Darren DeToni and Ravensbank House.
While the Monolith continues to produce fiction based on CPOP-related properties, the Monolith now also works to establish not only unique fiction, but relative projects and ideas by authors and other brands or companies, such as Midknight Heroes. Currently, Grisyke and Vampyr, the Second Race are two of the brand's newest ongoing unique series.
In 2020, the Monolith had been put on hold for a very lengthy amount of time (Corrogatio withstanding), due to the worldwide outbreak of the Coronavirus. In 2021, after much wait, the Monolith returns with not only a return to previously halted titles, but new and upcoming titles, as well. With the horizon looking bright, the Monolith focuses much on a new progress that will help the brand last a very long time.
